Hollywood - 30 April 2011

We got a call from our friend Jacques from South Africa saying that he was going to be in Hollywood for one night and we should meet him. How can you pass that up, Hollywood and old friends? We left from work on Friday to meet up with our old pal. LA traffic is nothing to mess around with. This 2 hour drive quickly turned into a 3 hour drive and a pissed off driver (that being me). Finding the Hotel was easy at least so we scooped up Jacques. Luckily I know of a secret parking spot that is easy to find  near my buddy Lit’s house. We were so excited to get out of the car that we forgot the camera. We had a few drinks and a few laughs before saying goodnight. We woke up in the morning and decided to hike up to the Hollywood sign. Due to poor planning on my part we walked 4 miles before even getting to the base of the 1 mile hike (there is a parking lot right there too, Oops!). We were already beat down before the hike started so we grabbed a few photos from half way up and decided to start the long walk back to the car. Walking further on the path would have only taken us behind the sign anyways. Back at Hollywood Blvd we watched as people were setting up something in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater. It turned out to be a ceremony for Peter O’Toole to put his hands in the concrete. After a long day it was time for a nice quite drive home. Winning!!!

This is the first time I checked out this blog. Good job on the layout and the photos. The logo at the top and the opening photo is well done(I'm guessing that's Cape Town?), and the other photos are well-taken. Great write-ups with each post too. I also like the color scheme used for the background. Sincerely, Jake H.
