Santa Barbara with the Family

- 27 & 28 July 2012 -
My Brother-in-Law’s Grandma turned 80 and decided to get the family together for a relaxing week in Santa Barbara.  We were invited to come up for the weekend to hang out and meet some of the family members that I’ve not met.  We ended up just coming up for Saturday and Left Sunday.  We spent most of Saturday just hanging out in the pool, before the fantastic birthday dinner.  My niece Mallory played with Bubbles all day and even slept in our room with us so she could be close to her.  Sunday we went and checked out the Church of Skatan.  I remember reading about this place circa 1997, so I was excited to see it.  Basically the owner of Shorty’s bought a church off of a Baptist congregation that out grew the building and turn it into a skate shop.  Then we went down to Stearns wharf and checked out the awesome view.  The drive home was the worst.  There was a fire underneath highway 101 which turned our 3 hour drive into a 7 ½ hour drive.  All in all we had a blast and it’s always nice to see the family.
