Boulders Beach & World of Birds

Boulders Beach

Boulders Beach is one of my favorite places to take visitors. It's a beautiful beach  covered with African penguins. The wind was blowing hard that day which you can see in a few of the photos. Most of the penguins were turned away from the wind.

World of Birds

Our day was basically planned around the feeding time at the World of Birds. They have a big cage which you are allowed to go into and feed Spider monkeys. You could barely feel these little guys when they jumped on you. We got to see and even feed a mommy with a week old baby on her back which was definitely a high point of our day. After the monkeys we proceed to walk around the park. Most of the birds were walking free or you could at least go in with them into their cages. This wasn't scary until we got to the “owl” session which was different story. All the owls had dead mice in their cages; some even had a mouse in their mouth which was really creepy. They love to sit on the top of each entrance or exit, which meant you, had to walk underneath them. I felt like they were staring us down. We had so much fun here, squirming and giggling like little girls. My dad couldn't stop laughing at the two of us. After our nerves were almost shattered we headed home.
